He stood in the dark opened the shutter the window and peered outside. "Antonio" muttered Abel awoke with a start, "What're you doing?".
Antonio: "I heard the lambs bleating, there must be someone in the"
Abel: "Maybe some animal has entered the fold"
Abel sat down on the bed, still feeling groggy from sleep, watched for a little 'brother to move nervously into the room, then felt his hand on the bedside table in search of light el'accese, while Antonio dressed frantically.
"Stay here," she said.
Abel did not discuss the orders of his brother and sat on the bed with his back raised. Antonio left the room bringing the light and he saw him disappear into the darkness. Then he heard a voice, was to his mother Philomena who had risen and appeared at the door of her room with her hair down behind her, the young Argentina. Abel joined his sister and both Antonio and his mother saw confabulation, as they passed into the other room. Joseph was also from the adjoining room came out in trousers, wool and after questioning her brother had started to look through the window trying to distinguish something in the dark. Antonio had taken the gun from the trunk was bent on it and it was loading. Then he walked resolutely towards the door with his rifle over the shoulder, dropping the bar iron propped the door and the opening. He was about to leave when something was opposed before he was a man with his face covered, his eyes staring almost expected somebody 'else, breathed so excited, sucked into the gag with every breath, in the hand wielding an object that gleamed in the glow of the moon: had a gun. Was pointing against it to him, firmly grasping his hand and held it pointed at villosa. Mumbled something, then rolled his eyes toward the gun. Antonio instinctively stooped man exploded a shot. Then another as he ducked again, he heard the room door open and someone running toward him. Bernard was his brother who fell into his help, the man fired again, a bump, a blow softened by the boy's body. Bernard fell to the ground. Antonio grabbed the hand of hairy monstrous emerged from the night, he struggled holding his hand raised while the man continued to shoot. In his mind with amazing clarity had counted the shots fired. Another blow was the fifth, was the last. Then grabbed the gun, which hung on his arm to hit the barrels and using it as a sledgehammer, a pick, as when he worked on the track. The man stumbled while an accomplice armed dappresso ran. With tremendous momentum Antonio and went to shut the door on the floor gasping Bernard in a patch of blood.
